Purps unfortunatly it was a tough lesson to learn (although you say nothing was learned). That is why I just don't invest time into people I have never met. Your wife is dying? Big deal. There are people that are dying 5 minutes from me, if I only looked I could help them. So why would I want to help some stranger over the internet? This may be crass but it's just the best route to take.

a british museum has canceled a lecture by dr. james watson, co-discoverer of the dna double helix, after he claimed black people are less intelligent than whites in a recent newspaper interview.. watson, who won the 1962 nobel prize for his part in discovering the structure of dna, provoked a storm of criticism after his comments were published in the sunday times.. the eminent biologist told the british newspaper he was "inherently gloomy about the prospect of africa" because "all our social policies are based on the fact that their intelligence is the same as ours -- whereas all the testing says not really.".
watson, 79, had been due to give a lecture at london's science museum on friday but the museum canceled his appearance, saying his comments had "gone beyond the point of acceptable debate.".

Are you sure he was not speaking of those living in Africa currently? Like me saying, "I am depressed at the fact that everyone wants to claim inner city black children are as intelligent as their suburban white counterparts, but studies show because of class structure they are not as intelligent." I'm not justifying; just saying he could have been pointing out that well in a poverty laden country you general don't have well educated people. Of course he might have meant it in a completely racist way...just wondering is all.

I think they use small children and senior citizens in situations like this to create the illusion that the victim is actually a monster. Where children are involved, a good response would be to get the parents charged with endangerment of a minor. The child stands a good chance of gettiing pulled out of that [Witless] family in this case, which would serve both to punish those taking the lead and saving a child from the cult.
My parents raised me better then most parents raised my friends. How do you know if the parents are bad? Would you rather the child get shuffled to some sexual abusive foster family?

I was called "The Dog" tonight
by restrangled ini am very angry.
i visited the active talk site tonight, identified myself as restrangled as most of you know who i am, and skally referred to me as "the dog".
i have been a member for just about 2 years, contributed cash to those in need without question, supported those in any way i could and my husband has done the same.. i am beyond hurt..i.thought myself and my husband had supported your cause......to be called "the dog" by one one of your most prominent members lets me know we don't count for squat no matter what we do...much like the witnesses.. thanks skally...you made my day today.. r.. .

I'm in love and I need your help
by lola28 ini went to borders yesterday to buy a book and this borders happens to be next door to petsmart, as i'm driving in i notice a group of people with dogs and i realize it's adopt a pet sunday, i love animals so i made a mental note to go by and see the dogs.
so fifteen minutes later, i spot her sitting by herself in a corner and i'm in love.
her name is peaches, i called her and she ran up to me a licked my hand.

Jack Russels have TONS of energy, so don't get her unless you can properly walk and exercise with her. Chihuahuas are generally very protective and have attachment issues but with the right training make extremely good dogs! Good luck.
